Tyler Banton was born and raised in Virginia and moved to San Diego to attend San Diego State University in 2016. He took a keen interest in real estate at a young age after realizing he could combinehis passion of finance and economics with buildings and construction together. He has held a variety of internships in real estate including most recently at Holiday Fenoglio Fowler LP (“HFF”) in San Diego where he was an analyst intern assisting in debt underwriting and valuation models on a variety of assets, as well as research. Prior, he worked remotely while attending school as an intern for Cambridge Wilkinson, an investment bank in New York City observing investor calls for growth equity, seed funding, and leveraged buyouts for entertainment, real estate, energy, and food and beverage companies. His sophomore year he was an intern at Cushman & Wakefield in San Diego for two office sales and leasing teams.Through the university, Tyler has held leadership roles and competed in multiple student competitions. Recently, as a junior he led the SDSU NAIOP University Team in a 2.3M+ square feet redevelopment proposal for the SPAWAR site in San Diego. As a sophomore, Tyler led a team in the Altus Group Real Confidence Portfolio Challenge leading SDSU to fourth place out of 48 universities, posting a 9.69% annual return compared to the overall universities benchmark of 5.8%. Tyler has been awarded the distinguished Pension Real Estate Association Merit Scholarship and is active in NAIOP, BIA, the SDSU Surf Team, and in his local community. Tyler enjoys surfing, traveling, and spending time with friends and family.
